We make healthier eating easy! Researchers have been analyzing the benefits of fasting and restrictive eating around religious holidays.
The concept of the Blasphemy Diet stems from centuries of faithful practice.
Fasting and restrictive eating has been an essential part of religion. Many religions require fasting as an act of penance, obligation, or faith. Usually these acts of abstaining from food or drink are practiced for a set period of time, from a continuous number of days, to different hours in the day. Some are strict, while some allow certain foods.
Fasting can be a wholesome way to improve health and physical performance from an evolutionary perspective.
One of the most important parts of a diet is sustainability. We ask ourselves if this is a diet we can follow. Can we stick to it or will we break it and fall into a cycle of binge-eating and shame? Do we have to buy a whole lot of expensive foods I've never heard of or eaten?
The Blasphemy Diet is not about starting the New Year off as a new you. It is not about finding everyday substitutes that don't taste right to you.
Our goal is to simplify all these challenges by consuming more of the things we should be eating to nourish our bodies. Things like fruits and vegetables while avoiding the things we eat in excess, like meat, dairy, and fried foods.
To make this challenge enjoyable, we added in Feast Days, and relaxed the restrictions on Saturday and Sundays for most intervals.
The Blasphemy Diet is best described as interval dieting. It is broken up into four parts throughout the year. These four parts are designed to be different and temporary so your body does not have the time to adapt to the change, and it focuses on detoxification and weight loss.
